SUMMARY:Student Affairs Ireland (SAI) 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM)
DESCRIPTION:The Student Affairs Ireland (SAI) 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) shall be convened on June 18th\, at 1.30 pm in Dublin Business School. \n\n\nIn accordance with the SAI Constitution\, motions proposed and seconded by members must be submitted to the current Membership Secretary\, Caitríona McGrattan (email: caitriona.mcgrattan@setu.ie)\, at least 14 days prior to the AGM. \n\n\nThe function of the SAI Board is to identify and lead the strategic priorities\, direction and governance of SAI. Board members are expected to attend a minimum of two Board meetings per year. The Membership Secretary will seek nominations to the Board of SAI from organisations agreed in the Constitution\, and members who are fully paid-up members of SAI can stand for election to the Board. \n\n\nThe function of the Executive is to devise strategies and policies to ensure that SAI meets its objectives. The Executive also facilitates the Board to plan\, direct and coordinate its operational activities. In relation to the six Executive Officer positions (i.e.\, President\, Vice-President\, Membership Secretary\, Treasurer\, External Liaison Officer and Communications Officer) please note the following: \n\n\nDaniel Caldwell is stepping down as Vice-President and IS putting his name forward for re-election as Vice-President. \n\n\nThe Vice-Presidents’ role is to work in collaboration with the President\, sharing responsibility and workload for the leadership of SAI; lead the Conference Sub-Committee and the Summer Seminar Sub-Committee; be a joint signatory with the President and Treasurer and take equal responsibility with them for the timely submission of all official documentation. \n\n\nClodagh Byrne is stepping down as External Liaison Officer and IS putting her name forward for re-election as External Liaison Officer. \n\n\nThe External Liaison Officer’s role is to be the official SAI contact point for other student affairs organisations outside of Ireland such as NASPA (USA)\, ECStA (EU)\, and IASSAS; to encourage SAI members to participate in international events and encourage international members to participate in SAI events; and to be the main SAI contact point for incoming and outgoing exchange delegations and official visits. \n\n\nShane Mooney is stepping down as Communications Officer and IS NOT putting his name forward for re-election as Communications Officer. \n\n\nThe Communication’s Officer role is to\, under the direction of the Board\, be responsible for issuing press statements on behalf of SAI and publicising SAI’s work through the media and through internal and external publications; be responsible for sharing SAI news and events with members; be responsible for identifying and raising awareness of significant and pertinent issues and events in the media to the Board; be responsible for all SAI’s online content\, ensuring that the website and social media pages are used consistently and kept up to date. Communicating SAI news and events will be a key part of this role. \n\n\nMembers of the Board and Executive shall be elected at the AGM. Each individual is elected to the Executive for a three-year term. If you wish to nominate a (current) member of the Board for election to any of the two listed Executive Officer Posts\, please clarify with the potential nominee that they are willing to have their name go forward for election to the post (s). \n\n\nOnce clarified\, please email the nomination\, identifying the post and nominee to sai.midwest@tus.ie by Wednesday\, 27th May 2026 at 17:00 pm. \n\n\n
