Global Summit 2022

We are very excited to invite you to the 2022 Global Summit on Student Affairs and Services hosted by Student Affairs Ireland and University College Cork from June 15-17, 2022.

This 6th Global Summit will bring together leaders in Student Affairs and Services from across the globe to engage in dialogue on key issues for our work in Higher Education. The Global Summit serves as a platform for critical discussion and deepening our community of practice that spans the globe, within an international framework and local relevance. There will be opportunities for focused work sessions for us to meet as a group virtually and in person. The planned schedule can be found here: IASAS.global/summit-schedule. The call for proposals will follow in early February.

This summit’s overarching theme is Cultivating Graduate Attributes to Empower and Sustain Educational Development. As with previous summits, we will produce a position paper, based on the inputs of all participants, that will be submitted for publication in regional and international publications, the University World News (UWN) and others.

The summit topics are the following:

  • Global goals, local action: enhancing collaboration between Higher Education and learning cities
  • Equality: a matter of social justice in Higher Education
  • Implementing a sustainable campus
  • Higher Education Institutions: changing to achieve the SDGs
  • Student activists: startups and spin-offs to achieve SDGs
  • Scholarship in Higher Education: Supporting asylum seekers and refugees
  • Nurturing bright futures: cultivating graduate attributes
  • Integrating SDGs in HE Policy
  • Linking SDG health research to improving lives
  • The changing landscape of Higher Education

The 2022 Global Summit will be hybrid with a team of online and in-person hosts at the University College Cork. You are invited to register either as a virtual or in-person participant for the Global Summit 2022. You will be responsible for a registration fee of 190€ which includes food and airport transfers for those colleagues who will attend in person and 75€ who will join virtually. One of the goals of the Global Summit is to have many diverse voices from around the world and have wide geographic representation, hence we may have to set a limit to the number of participants per country and region. Thus, we ask that you RSVP and register by March 15 2022, to confirm your attendance.

Booking: Online Event – In-person Event
